Keep in mind, that was a while ago. Just like how a lot of people's relatives didn't used to be openly fascist, a lot of would-be allies scattered across middle america have been slowly brainwashed over the past decade or so, so you started seeing wild things like the creator of fucking Dilbert unmasking as a white nationalist.

So yes, I wholeheartedly believe there are many, many people who at one point took no issue with Obama, perhaps they even put in a ballot for Hillary, but since then have been brainwashed into viewing taking a knee during the national anthem as an "Attack on all white people".

Don't be naive.

The numbers actually say you're naive.

From the same article this graph is from:

"A 55% majority of White voters cast ballots for Trump in 2024. An identical share of White voters favored Trump in 2020, and 54% selected him in 2016."

Part of why Trump won was because he turned over a lot of non-white voters, not because a larger share of white people voted for him than before.
