Remember what’s happened in the show: Carol was first traumatized by loss…then abandoned…then “fell in love” with Zosia.
At the best of times a person would believe that time spent means intimacy gained…even in the context of the collective Pluribus. It’s one of the oldest flaws in human nature: we believe effort expended equals value.
I’m not sure what question she could have asked or how she could have known that Pluribus has a “static” emotional state…especially given what she was going through and that she was only interacting with Zosia.
Maybe it just goes to show how manipulative they really are. They give someone a person based solely on looks and force her to mimic the memories of a lost loved one, only to abandon her and later return to 'simulate' a relationship. I can see how that would completely destroy someone's mental state.
I mean…you have to know that’s a selective assessment of what happened on the show:
Pluribus was never traditionally “manipulative” about what they were doing…they were up front about who they chose, why they said what they said, and what they’re objective is. Pluribus also couldn’t have foreseen that Carol was going to kill thousands on thousands of them and force them to withdraw. They would have preferred to stay with Carol and convince her organically.
