Democracy doesn't last forever
It'a a flower that will wither
It requires eternal vigilance
Democracy is not a state of existence, it's a flame we have to constantly watch over and keep alive, and teach our decendents the knowledge and skills, and guide their spirit, to be able to carry on this flame.
I, as one person, a non-white person, can't do much to influence politics, I can only hope that the rebellious nature of the American spirit continues... otherwise this is just PRC all over again with all the corruption.
Sadly the rebellious nature of the American spirit also includes the Confederacy and its legacy which still looms large over the country like a blighted shadow. The mess we're in is still very much a part of that. That side of the culture here needs to be trimmed off like a surgeon removing the gangrenous flesh before it spreads and kills the whole being. How we're going to do that when we have 24 hour regressive propaganda and psyops preying on the weak-minded among us is a challenge though.
