The order:
Regret -> clean bird bath -> notice no birds use it except for a pigeon-> regret -> clean gutters -> realise there's no rain coming -> scratch head and have an existential crisis -> bribe resident magpie which is basically the mafia at this point.
On the plus side the work is already done when you get sudden rain the next time. And the magpie has a private pool when it boots the pigeon
I've had a bit of birdbath tribulation as well. When I put it out the back for the first time it wasn't long before the damn myna birds took it over and started bossing away all the birds I wanted to attract ๐So I put it around the side of the house and now I never see birds there because it's too close to our door. The bees get a drink though.
