I just want to roll up in a blanket burrito and sleep the day away but doing that will make me feel worse by night.

Wishing there was some kind of comfort to be found in life -_-

I’ve been both dolled up and plain and there is a tangible difference to how you get treated.

I choose to look plain these days just so I can get a clearer read on character.

Yeah it’s all very weird. In both cases I would love to know what really happened

I could be misremembering. But on checking ‘unnamed sources’ claimed that a representative got belligerent and haggled over the price. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jul/10/stuffed-how-australias-unconscionable-gamble-on-covid-vaccines-backfired

But yeah either way they did discuss it and refused the deal

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 1 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Yes. They haggled over the price, turned it down and let us deal with the strollout.

"You do the best job you can on the day and then you shake yourself off the next day and you do it all again."

Mate, you didn’t do anything.

I know my vet takes unused meds from pets that have passed, and I gave them both the extra bottle of oral gel plus the oil based 4cyte that I didn’t want to force Melbcat to take

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 2 points 23 hours ago

Yeah. There’s always that and it’s the better option, but thought if people prefer doing it this way they can

I’m sorry bro, there are parts of Melbourne that are especially cooked now. Poverty, drugs and lack of support services are really causing a crunch and leading to increased shoplifting and aggression.

It might be worth going somewhere else, another area if possible

How is it that tedious chores are easier in video games than rl? But I’m stealing the concept of ‘doing dailies’.

If I can do even just one annoying thing each day, no matter if that’s all that gets done, then that should start to add up to a clean mostly empty flat. And if it doesn’t then it prevents things from snowballing (especially in a small place).

I’m staying on Mts Wash and Dishmore, shredding paperwork, and slowly weeding out various things to declutter. There’s a bunch of different places for unwanted stuff to go but I’m just putting them aside for when I get a lift.

When life is less chaotic then I begin to sell things.

Would they take Restavit? I know there’s a crossover with human drugs and they do take donations of leftover meds (to give free to pets of homeless clients) but it might be weird to give them expired human meds.

I also have a few tubes of Melbcat’s thyroid meds from like 3 years ago but they may not be good still

Public transport isn’t very accessible for physical ability and also local safety issues. Also for working people time is an issue

Still sucks that I’m giving a sus grocery baron a plug (and using it)

Yes Coles are price gougers and part of a duopoly so I hate recommending them.

But if the drop off part of things is a challenge at least there’s the option to use this.

Seems Yarrabyte has got on the beers?

Winter is coming, bills will be high. Do you have tips to help us get by?

An advocacy service over the phone for people living with opioid dependence.

Things are really bad in my area and Victoria is the only Australian state that still charges for methadone. There’s not much I can do individually but share resources and hope it helps someone.

Prices are always rising.

What have you found good for saving a dollar?

Edit: The rules are changing for permanent residents - see article.

Temporary residents are allowed to keep using their overseas license.

Edit: Sorry, I was unclear on the message of the article and accidentally posted a misleading headline.

TL;DR: There are changes for permanent residents but temporary residents can keep using their overseas licenses.

Just as a reminder if you’re struggling.

Services like these can help with rent, financial advice, or no interest loans. Please avoid any predatory payday loan companies.

Edit: For the no interest loans I was thinking of Good Shepherd https://goodshep.org.au/services/nils/
