I bought one of those fly salt guns for myself as a Christmas present. I was able to save about $30 by getting off aliexpress and could get it in a cool red and blue spiderman colour scheme.

So far the confirmed kill count is 4

It does a little puff of salt. I shot it outside under a light and it kind of looks like the gunpowder smoke from an old time revolver in those circumstances
