Democrats promised this in 2020 and didn't follow through. Get a new lie.
Democrats didn't control the Senate all those other times.
Stop making excuses. The caucus had a majority from 2020 to 2022.
Republicans controlled the Senate in 2020...and after that, Biden was president until 2024.
Yes, and during the time democrats had a majority, they did fucking nothing to bring him to justice.
To hear you talk about it, you'd think there is no such thing as a democratic majority ever.
You can't impeach an ex-president. We can obviously talk about Merrick Garland dropping the ball on going after him...but that has literally nothing to do with who was in charge of Congress at the time. It's irrelevant.
I suppose if you're focusing exclusively on impeachment and not bringing him to justice more broadly.
I don't think you understand what I'm saying, or how any of this actually works.
Prosecuting Trump had literally nothing to do with who was in control of Congress at the time. That is not how any of this is supposed to work. It doesn't matter if they had a super-majority in both Houses. It was not up to them. That is not their job.
The responsibility for that failure lies exclusively with the Department of Justice, and more specifically with Merrick Garland for dragging his heels in an effort to appear apolitical.
Who confirmed and then failed to impeach garland?
And garland dragged his heels because that's what biden hired him to do. biden only barely beat trump and knew he couldn't beat anyone else.
Also, the "you don't accept my excuses so you don't know how anything works" centrist gaslighting shit got old more than a decade ago.
If democrats had pursued justice with a fucking tenth of the dedication they had for protecting netanyahu's political career, trump would be in jail where he belongs.

You think that being apolitical is a bad thing? Do you even realize that you are the literal definition of blue MAGA? You have no idea why impartiality is a requirement for law enforcement...so, you blame the people that chose an impartial law enforcement agent to run the DOJ.
In this case, the very reason why Garland was the right pick, made him the wrong pick. But, you would rather Democrats undermine the Justice Department the same way Trump does, because you secretly approve of Trump's methods. Does that sum it up?
Just admit it. You agree with Trump. You just wish Democrats were more like him...right? If only they were more corrupt, we could have done something to stop Trump sooner...right?

I think garland wasn't apolitical. And I think justice would have been apolitical if democrats weren't garbage cowards at all times who live to capitulate to fascists.
He was the right pick for centrists who didn't want to pursue justice at all and never fucking will.
Confirming someone who won't pursue justice because you're scared that doing so might upset the republicans whose approval you will do anything for isn't trumpist. Stop accusing anyone who doesn't love how useless democrats are of being a trumper.
