Realistically, what could the do if you migrate to Europe, become a citizen and just don't pay US taxes anymore? I mean except not let you into the US anymore.
Quite a bit, unfortunately. US has it's tendrils in all of the world's financial systems and forces other governments to do wealth/asset reporting on its citizens. We aren't quite to the point yet where the EU would grow a spine against the US. And I already emigrated out. That they might not let me back in is the least of what they could do. I could easily end up on a sanctions list and then bye-bye any kind of modern banking.
