Kinda weird to call Hunter a VIP. I don't think I'd even call him moderately important

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 9 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Have you heard about his laptop, though?

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 6 points 10 hours ago

His laptop has been spotted in high-level talks with foreign investors. It was seen holding meetings between several international spy agencies and even was seen getting into a car with prominent mercenary leaders.

When will someone finally put a stop to this laptop?

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 8 points 17 hours ago

That's because his Daddy didn't make him an official member of the US Government.

Maybe there's been some update I don't know about, but I also haven't heard about Joe Biden being in the Epstein files, either.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 32 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Almost as if character is like a real thing. Like respecting yourself means you also respect others. Say what you will about Joe, but never got any scumbag vibes from that guy. Haven't really heard too many surprises from the names that I've seen in these files so far.

Yeah he's more into drone striking kids than doing anything else with with them

[–] Ourst@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 13 hours ago

He’s more “fuck them kids” than “fuck them kids”

[–] TheseusNow@lemmy.zip 1 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Unrestricted drone warfare is more an Obama critisicm than Biden. The only creepy Biden thing I remember was him sniffing women's hair.

[–] theolodis@feddit.org 5 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Obama and Biden both had to approve drone strikes. It was the first Trump administration that got rid of that requirement.

Not saying that this makes Obama or Biden better, but it seems like Trump was even worse.

[–] TheseusNow@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah not saying Biden didn't partake in drone warfare, but the civilian casualties from drone attacks were significantly reduced during his term as president. He only executed around a tenth as many drone attacks as done on Obama's term. So it is not something that makes sense to criticise him specifically on, especially when there are definitely other things to criticise him on.

[–] theolodis@feddit.org 1 points 58 minutes ago

I'd agree on that.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

What kids did Biden drone strike

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

I care less about drone strikes against direct military targets and the like than I do about funding Israel's ongoing genocide that has killed far, far more innocent people than any "whoopsie that was a schoobus" incidents.

[–] theolodis@feddit.org 0 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

He personally? Probably none. On his order?

After Joe Biden took office, he halted counterterrorism drone strikes without White House approval

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 hours ago

Both are worth noting. Any president is going to make some decisions with ugly consequences that will be criticized. If you are a creep on a personal level, imagine how bad you can be with some dissociation. Trump and pals rape children personally and personally spew out lies on a daily basis.

[–] SavinDWhales@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

That's... A good thing? The full quote from the article is:

In October 2017, Trump abolished the Obama-era approval system in favor of a looser, decentralized approach, which gave the military and CIA officials the discretion to decide to launch drone strikes against targets without White House approval.[25] This policy reduced accountability for drone strikes.[26] After Joe Biden took office, he halted counterterrorism drone strikes without White House approval and initiated a broad review of U.S. policy on drone use.[25]

[–] theolodis@feddit.org 1 points 9 hours ago

That's better than what it used to be under Trump, but not better than what it used to be under Obama. It does just mean that Biden had to approve every drone strike, so technically any kid that died during his presidency to US drones is on him.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 10 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 23 hours ago) (1 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if his name is somewhere in there off the cuff, but I'm honestly surprised MAGA isn't screaming about him like they do about Clinton. I can only imagine that if he was in there for good it would've been the first thing Trump released.

[–] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 5 points 14 hours ago

There is no doubt in my mind Biden isn't anywhere in there. For that exact reason. Trump would not be able to stop himself.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 5 points 16 hours ago

That's because in america, it's expected that every failure's failure son is also getting to be an important failure

[–] agingelderly@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Came here to say that ... shouldn't they be hoping Joe Biden is in it? Why would Hunter be a bigger deal then any other rich nobody?

[–] bear@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 23 hours ago

It's projection and they're trying to cover for all the corruption and nepotism occurring in the current regime. There's a reason his family members are being gifted billions of dollars. Now criticizing his family members for this can be more easily deflected as retaliation for what they've done to Hunter.
