MODERATORS

I’ve previously had Sennheisers, but am looking at upgrading to the Fairbuds XL because I like the replacement/repairability.

Are there any others I should be looking at?

I hear a lot of people talking about Beyerdynamic these days.

AKG's are made in the US now that Samsung owns them, but Austrian Audio is the original team's new company if you want to go that route. Those are another decent pick.

I went with the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 ohms when I was looking for a buy it for life option - everything can be easily replaced or at least fixed with basic soldering skills. Three years later and I'm very happy with the sound and build quality and I haven't needed to fix a thing, despite not babying them at all.

edit: I just had a look at Beyerdynamic on Wikipedia and it says

In June 2025, Beyerdynamic announced the sale of the company to Chinese firm, Cosonic Intelligent

I have two beyerdynamic headphones, and like them both a lot! Built sturdy, good sound. Because if the sturdy build they are a bit heavy.
