I was scared we were going to have a duopoly with Netflix and Disney.
So I am in the minority here but glad there will be a bit more streaming services, technically less but I mean not just two large ones.
Btw not American, not sure wtf your news media is doing, I think that is where the issue for most of you are with paramount.
Also they own the production side which could be a big problem. If you compare it to music streaming, where every streaming service nearly has the same music, the competition isn't based on the product but on the available content. That gives more power to the big corporations, because you also have to accept with their streaming deal if you produce with them. Also it promotes piracy that harms the creatives payout from streamers. And possibly the quality of content suffers as the streamers want mass content to draw the most people to their service. If the movie producers could sell to all streaming services simultaneous the competition would only be based on the service. Meaning Price, streaming quality, amount of ads and additional services would be a much bigger selling point.
