9 out of 10 dentists recommend Colgate (when compared to not using anything at all).
100% of the doctors who recommended Colgate recommended Colgate.

That one dentist though...
Had a dentist explain this to me one time, because he knew someone who was the one dentist. The argument is that many toothpastes contain high amounts of sugar, so improper brushing with toothpaste can actually be worse than proper brushing without it.
The argument of the 10th dentist is that the toothpaste matters less than the technique.
All 10 dentists agree that brushing with a fluoride toothpaste is a good idea though
