Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

Better than Starfleet Academy? The only redeeming thing about that show was Paul Giamatti. Mostly a teen drama.

It took me a few episodes to get into Prodigy, but wow, what a wild and emotional ride! I highly recommend it.

Not a big fan of Academy, but still better than Discovery, I'd say - which isn't too hard to achieve.

Yeah. I hate to say it but once the adults show up it really starts to improve. The first few episodes seem a bit too Star Wars-ey.

I couldn't watch discovery after it turned out that the burn was caused by one guy getting super sad in a crystal cave. Im sorry but what the actual fuck? A whole season of build up for that .

Paul Giamatti was acting like no one told him he couldn't win another Oscar for his performance there for a minute.

Paul Giamatti was channeling Raul Julia in street fighter.

I really enjoyed SFA, for the most part. It’s funny how people deride it as ‘teen drama’ as if that’s automatically a bad thing.

It's not even close to being that though. There are a couple episodes that point out and deal with issues related to being essentially college aged students, but other than those situations, and the fact it's an Academy in general, very little of the show is teen drama.

Even when that aspect is more evident, it's used as a lens for more general themes, like the PTSD

spoilerFrom a student being brutally murdered during a training scenario.

Which is something Star Trek hasn't historically portrayed very well. More often it's completely ignored past the episode unless we're talking about the main cast.

Academy is as Star Trek as it comes if you don't go into it with preconceived notions expecting something like a CW show.

Reminds me of the old days when people would tell me that Star Trek was just a soap opera in space like it was supposed to get a rise out of me. At most, you're going to sell me on checking out soap operas.

Ugh Academy was just so meh as TV and utterly lacking the kind of meaningful problem solving that makes Trek great

I tried to like it. My wife enjoys YA stuff and is green to Trek so we watched it. I wasnt heartbroken about the cancelation. Especially since Braka wont be in s2.

I did like Holly Hunter and her supporting officers though

Spoilers, near the end.

Does it get any more young adult than

spoilerWe surrounded the entirety of federation space. And then every federation ship showed up to help.

Yeah, I don't know that the writing clears the bar to achieve subpar.
