The problem with defending bullying these people is that bullies simply don't care what's justified. You need to fix culture. People don't get the social purpose of shame, TLDR social accountability.

Yeah bullying is possibly even counterproductive. What this person needs is people in their life who can be firm and snap them out of this behavior.
