One of the worst parts about American politics is the fact that the aesthetics are somehow both insanely self-serious and commercialized beyond parody. Two kinds of gaudiness you'd think wouldn't mix
If Burgerlanders had any sense of artistic taste or literary analysis that would bother them. But most of them just throw everything into a pop culture blender and gargle it anyway.
