Ukraine was shelling Ukrainians for 9 years before Russia showed up
i know this is a canned statement at this point but it's fairly weak if you pare it down this much. all it takes is knowing the Russian army deployed in & supported the donbass before the SMO, which not all but some libs are liable to remember
