What player in the NFL, past or present, would you have wanted to see succeed so badly but due to injuries, off the field issues, or whatever happened just derailed their career? For me it was unfortunate to see players like Josh Gordon or Justin Blackmon have their careers end or never getting back on track because of off-field issues.

Shawn Merriman but injuries killed his career!

And as a Washington, Sean Taylor. He just started to emerge as a top safety. To bad.

And then he dated Tila Tequila, got into some domestic violence trouble and that was the last I’ve heard of him.

He's still involved with the Chargers in some capacity doing social media-type content and does some stuff in the MMA world.

damn just reading his name boiled up some old hatred

i feel like i said some variation of "SHAWNE MERRIMAN IS A PIECE OF SHIT" way more than a 15-year-old should after his hit that ended Priest Holmes' career
