Tbh apart from claypool don’t really get the knock on poles. He has kept the bears in a position to succeed in the future with or without fields. No GM is going to be 100% perfect, and he’s stayed cautiously aggressive collecting valuable pieces that are for sure part of this core moving forward while inheriting a disaster of a situation from the last guy.
Even on Claypool, he gave the dude a chance to turn his shit around, dude didn't, bam he was gone. Poles didn't get all precious about it.
