Thanks! Full transparency: I don't really play either and most just paint, but what I understand is that in the new edition your faction is simply "Tyranids" so it doesn't matter what color scheme or Hive Fleet you paint them up as.
Even with the Space Marines, you don't need to be totally limited to the official color schemes for a given group. There are plenty of official successor chapters with radically different colors and it's fine to make up your own successor chapter with yet another scheme.
With these guys, I had done a few Genestealer Cults guys with purple jumpsuits a while ago and wanted to mirror that as though the GSC wardrobe was intended to match the Tyranid's flesh.
