Everyone knows for a fact that humans can fly if they believe hard enough while flapping their arms and jumping from the tallest building in town. The problem is that we can't seem to make contact with anyone who has completed the process.
No, you throw yourself at the ground and miss.
Not surprisingly, this is how you orbit a planet. You just need sufficient horizontal velocity such that the planet curves away from you as fast or faster than you fall towards it. So you are falling, and continually missing.
Whoops! WHEEEEE-HEHEHEEEEEEE!!!
