It doesn't care about antisemitism but it sure does love having an excuse to crack down on anti-genocide protests

exactly. the same conservatives who were parroting conspiracies about new world order or deep state cabals and protecting neonazi rallies are now pretending they care about antisemitism. the west only cares about something that its trying to define as antisemitic- opposing israel- and not genuine antisemitism like neonazi groups.

Precisely. By protesting the genocide you are opposing the expansion of an empire-aligned ethnostate in a region we have been meddling in for, oh, 80 years now, because it's full of the vroom vroom juice the empire needs to wage war and placate the internal populace. The USA is using the Israelis just as cynically as they are using the Ukrainians, just the circumstances are different, the motivation is the same. These protestors are unwittingly protesting the empire. The empire doesn't like that. And it will use any and all arrows in its quiver to silence that dissent.
