Which factions should I ally with and which should I punch into the sun with my glorious unarmed cyborg?

As far as I remember, The Followers of the Apocalypse are cool, The Kings are funny and the NCR are lame military neolibs that use prison labour.

Oh, and I'm curbstomping Caesar the first chance I get.

when you make it to the Boomers airbase, don't speak to anyone, just start shooting

Smh what have you got against old people?

If they're not the NCR, the Brotherhood of Steel or the Legion, they're usually okay

It's not really worth wiping out the Mojave BoS. They suck but they have no political power. Veronica and Christine probably wouldn't be happy if you killed everyone they knew.

I go Yes Man route and kill the casino owners, the boomers, the legion I help the ncr just enough for them to win hoover dam realistically but they'd be totally reliant on me after I take over Vegas. Buddy up hard with The Followers and The Kings. Redirect HELIOS to Westside and freeside. Upgrade the securitrons, merc Odo, nuke the legion. Post credits imaginary scene and tagline of Fallout: Juche Vegas

Ideologically Yes Man is the only remotely valid choice. Do all the Freeside quests & factions though. "Who's the King? Can you believe this guy man?"

I did enjoy playing the fash (roleplaying a fash lady who is a walking cognitive dissonance machine) for being able to merc the NCR. I remember NCR quests being kinda boring ngl, whiny libs.

Ulysses: "Do you come bearing the flag of the bull, or the bear?"

Courier 6: "Baby I come bearing the flag of The Kings ya dig? Hoo Haa Huh!"

If only the Kings could be the winners of the Battle of Hoover Dam, so I could do my Johnny Bravo roleplay.

our boy UlyssesT would definitely beat wannabe poet new vegas Ulysses in a fight

(fistfight, word fight, robot fight, whichever)

I like to get all of the minor factions to like me, and then align them with Yes Man. This creates the most stable and powerful version of Independent Vegas, which I think is necessary for them to be able to resist the NCR or Legion if they decide to come back again.

having Arcade kill Caesar is funnier but it's a little shitty to get there

GO KHAAAAANS they have the coolest outfits and you can deal drugs for them

part of me likes legion because the leader is such an unhinged and memorable psycopath

they are completely the wrong choice from a moral perspective of course but its a vidya gaym

As far as the main quest goes, you can't really do anything with the Followers, and the only thing you can do with the Kings is broker a treaty with the NCR if you're doing the NCR route.

I usually do:

Foil the Omertas

Expose the White Gloves

Convince the Khans to suicide attack the dam

Destroy the Brotherhood

Ally the Boomers
