The listen chronologically approach, respectable.

I listened to most within a day of recording. A couple times i managed to catch it live and be able to comment in the chat and fuck with Matt. Good times.

Hell yeah! Don’t dox yourself, but if able to tip toe around it: did he ever respond?

[–] HexbearGPT@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think maybe once he talked about something i wrote in the chat. Highlight of my life lmao.

The Grillpill Explained, where he just explains the grillpill

Oh, Did A Voteball Happen? Breaking down the results of the 2020 election.

Non cushvlog:

If you are a US history nerd Hell of Presidents is mandatory

The chapo history episodes on Fascism and Mormonism are fantastic, but all the Matt history episodes are good

Hinge points is okay, there are some good analysis in some episodes like 9/11, the German Revolution, and the Civil War

Thanks for the comprehensive response! I’ll check those out.

they're so hard to track down tbh, and I haven't listened to any since they originally aired, so idr specific ones. You might have better luck on r/AcidMarxism if it still exists (if its privated just request to be added)

yeah but I have no fuckin clue where any particular good moments occur. Even if I knew an exact quote it'd be very difficult to find unless it's been transcribed.

The point wasn't "there are no transcripts", just that even with transcripts it's hard to find anything, and they aren't complete. Though it's good to see they've continued to expand the transcriptions, last I had looked it was only like the first 6 months worth that were transcribed.

I'm just saying, the medium makes it really hard to recall and then dig up and then link to good moments. Not impossible, just a real PITA, at least for me, I don't have a great memory for exact phrases used that I can search by. And even if you find exactly what you wanted, it's often not as powerful without the context of the rest of the 2 hour ramble, or the body of all the other cushvlogs.

Thanks, I’ll ask nicely and hope for the best

If you’re after eps where he discusses a specific topic then someone created a searchable index here: https://cushvlog-catalog.vercel.app/

Awesome, thank you

If you are up for it, I believe chronological is amazing. I am biased of course because that's how I experienced them; as they were released (and a couple lucky live watch alongs). The blogs began during COVID and around the time Bernie dropped out, and they are a great document of an amazing thinker working through a lot of thoughts and emotions. And it seemed that from start to finish, some things were ironed out and theories refined. In this way it also a good document on the development of thinking, and not a bunch of episodes that stand as testaments or monolithic takes on certain topics. He seems to have changed over time in his focus and thinking, and it was nice to be along for the ride.
