crazy how the traditions america spent 300 years cultivating keep popping up in weird and troubling ways. a black friend's parents bought their house in the 80s and the property had a racially restrictive covenant on the property (not enforced, but the phrasing was there)

Of course the only reason this can even be a story is the landlord was stupid enough to explicitly out their own racism. In 99.9% of cases they'll just refuse for any excuse and have it only be IMPLIED racism and thus get away with it.

I'm starting to wonder if the distribution of needs like houses shouldn't be down to random ass rich fucks curious-marx
