I mean this isn't new. Back when modi was CM companies preferred moving there in order to avoid problems with labor. Its not that they won't have any problems there in Gujarat its that sangh affiliates can send brown shirts if push came to shove.
Now there's also more financial trappings too. So the metro projects are handled by L&T before and now. Previously japan and south korea have been part of these deals. Now this new one seems to funded by japan. This all part of strengthening ties with US approved allies. That's partly why there is more dealing with japan and SK.
As far as the semiconductor chips deal goes, tata has been bagging the chip deals for a while. They took over the wistron operation. Foxconn had a project but the corporation vedanta based in london had a fallout which shelved the thing. So now tata is pulling another taiwan based corporation to do this current project.
Finally the ghar wapsi scheme, first off very gross title of course. That just seems like very sus way to shelter and launder money. Can't wait to see this trainwreck.
