Exceptional scenes unfolded on Finnair flight AY1571 (Airbus A320 OH-LXF) from Helsinki to Paris CDG on Friday morning when a woman unexpectedly gave birth mid-air. The woman, unaware of her pregnancy, went into labour about an hour before the plane was due to land.

How tf can they be unaware of their pregnancy?

Also, is the kid officially a citizen of finnarnia?

Significantly more confounding is how someone gives birth within 1 hour of initial contractions.

It’s not as uncommon as you might think. Especially with folks that have irregular periods.

My wife found out she was pregnant with our son at about 7 1/2 months pregnant. She had just had our daughter and had none of the signs of pregnancy she previously had.
