After 40 years of pretty much exclusively wearing Adidas shell-toes (thanks Run DMC!), Vans and Converse, my feet are fucked and I've had to come over to the dark side with some fitted fat-soled New Balance runners. Oh my! It's like walking on air and I love it lol

I just listened to the Stuff You Should Know about Adidas and Puma yesterday. It's really quite interesting. Adidas got it's start from Jesse Owens at the '36 Olympics.

aw man, I'm meant to do all that by tonight before I head off interstate and all I've done is sit on the couch and eat dinner. Time marches on inexorably...

e: I'm proud to say I've run the dishwasher, vacuumed, washed the woolens and hung them to dry, and packed most of my stuff. Just need to do my eyebrows, handwash stuff and throw in the final packing items tomorrow morning. Calm. I am allowed to relax.

Mr. Omoikiri is away at the snow for the rest of the week and I gotta say, the house has never been cleaner…

All the tidying up is done by like, 7, and I have the rest of the night to do all that self-pampering stuff as well. I love him to death, but this is kinda nice

I don’t have to go back to work until Monday after getting back from a two week holiday in Fiji yesterday. I’m not looking forward to the shit show I come back to as I know it will be a thing and then training a new hire remotely a few days after I get back.

Oh well, I’m currently just enjoying my wine and later me can worry about that.

Edit: It’s also fucking cold here and I want my warm island life back :(
