ME: I hope you have the time and energy for a three hour lecture of the history and engineering (maybe) of this obscure component of a fictional universe I've created. Do you prefer law or railways?

This is part of why I got into writing.

I either get a beta reader for my latest project, or they never ask me stupid questions like that again. It's win/win.
