In an additional post Medland says: It appears Ricciardo's arm was in a sling after leaving the medical centre.

Liam Lawson is here with Red Bull, but I believe Nyck de Vries can also still be called upon if required

What happened? We had a tornado hit nearby last night so no power or home internet to watch this morning’s session.

Either he decided he didn’t want to t-bone Piastri who had just crashed and parked his car in the proverbial wall or he had a similar slip as Piastri and crashed. Having seen how much he breaked, I think it’s the first.

Hope all your family and friends are okay and not hit by the tornado btw

Thank, we’re good and I managed to get a generator this morning. 375k people without power in Michigan this morning due to the storm!

He avoided hitting Piastri, who had already crashed, the only way he could, by hitting the wall. It was hard to watch, you knew it was coming watching on tv, but Ricciardo couldn't see until it was too late.
