What happened was that the Raccoon project got taken down on GitHub after the original developer’s career was taking a hit due to how the app was being received. However the community got together and saved an earlier version and continued their wonderful work.
There are two Raccoon apps one for Lemmy and the other for Friendica.
Right. Looks like I missed the drama.
The "previously on ..." for this drama was that someone created a Fediverse post ranking the different apps for how well they handled Lemmy's Markdown, and Racoon didn't score well in the original post. It was later revised after further testing, but the damage was already done.
I literally switched to Racoon because of that post. Is it a community project now, and if so, link?
It was because of me :(. I just wanted to inform the dev that Raccoon Markdown renderer don't support support some Markdown. He thought I was complaining so much. Then, Boom he deleted his account and Repo.
