I wonder why the current prez of the US doesn't retire. He could be golfing full time and be surrounded by adoring fans. (sh.itjust.works)

I think both sides of the aisle would love it, he wouldn't have to go to stupid meetings or handle anything, and he would go out with a huge fan base.

You're an old dude with plumbing problems, why are you still working?

Why don't any of the 80+ year olds running out government retire?

They're power addicted and suffering from the 100% normal and unavoidable effects of aging that prevents them from realizing how much it's effecting them.

When your that old months go by like days, they likely honestly think they have the same cognitive function they had half a century ago.

They don't know how bad they are, and no one close to them will explain it because they're riding the coattails and making a lot of the calls with none of the accountability.

It was the same 2016-2020, and still the same 2020-2024.

This is probably the final answer. Biden was forced to step down due to thinking he wouldn't win, not because of his age.

It was going to 100% be the same people doing the same things.

Just a different empty suit standing up and waving.

A much more electible empty suit, but everytime Dems run on "maintain the status quo" we get a Republican president.

No one wants either status quo, we're going to see a lot more so gle term presidents moving forward. Which is why we can't keep wasting our turns with neoliberals. We need to at least get someone willing to fix shit as fast as trumpers will break shit just to actually maintain stays quo.
