Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Agreed. I switch between a mint laptop and an M1Pro - I miss the feature and am looking forward to it. As well, the HEIF support will be a blessing.
I've probably not used Cinnamon in close to ten years. Do they have plans to support Wayland yet?

Oh this is great news! Back when I had linux mint on my laptop, I tried to fix the lack of gestures, and the program I downloaded ended up locking me out of my login page. It would be great to see gestures baked in.
That's wild, do you remember what the program was by chance?
Nope, its been a couple years. It was a program that let you add custom gestures.
Are they going to be 1 to 1?
I hope they will begin to focus on Wayland. It's nice they are adding gestures but they are still stuck to x11. ElementaryOS has gestures on x11 and they are really nice but gnomes Wayland gestures just beat them out of the park.
