Personally I like Tusky more, not just because I use the app, but because it's less ambiguous. Trunky would be great for a tree-related app though.

The Tusky app icon is super cute though so that's probably also influencing my opinion.

If rebranding to a 2 syllable name was a good idea then Misskey would be more popular than Mastodon
Rebranding to a 2 syllable name can be a good idea, without it being the main factor in determining a platform's popularity.
Also, I think Misskey's name is more confusing because the use of "Miss" and the way it was marketed makes me think it's a space for women (and possibly furries).
Instagram? Microsoft?
