Looking after my Aunts' Hamish the border collie next week for a few days.

Thankfully dogs can't talk cause he's getting some premium eye fillet and won't dob me in.

It feels like a sleepy kind of day today, so any time you want can be nap time.

I saw a young woman dressed like Miss Casey yesterday. Same hair, sweater and blouse.

In a perfect coincidence I myself was looking to buy a new a trench coat.

Took the paddleboards for their first spin this morning and oh my god it's love. We both fell many, many times are now rather exhausted, but the weather was so peaceful for it, the water was gorgeous and just had the most fun we could. Lots of laughter. Can't wait for more. Definitely need to work on our core strength though, wowzers.

Ow my goddamn stomach :(

[–] anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone 8 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I need to write an email to the boss about workload and am struggling to find the right words. Don’t want to be whiny but need to make my case clear and be tactful. Of course, when awake and overthinking at 3am I composed the perfect email in my head and have now forgotten it. Hrmph

I think I'll get an electric drum kit instead of a new guitar.

Could be lots of fun!

So I'll be staying home tonight due to stomach issues. Will have to save my 10 years sober celebration till next week.

It's one thing I wish they'd embrace down here more. A midi is not enough and sometimes a pint is too much

Stunning morning. Cafe breakfast outside with three games of chess (one win each and a draw), then an hour long walk home in the blissful sunshine with my friend, talking about how shit my old job was (she's still there)

Coffee. Had lunch. Gaming. Put the footy on. Nap achieved.

Severance and The rookie watched.

An overall productive day.

A bag of chips were sacrificed today however.

Went back to sleep and woke up overheating -_-

I’m trying to wean myself onto books so I don’t rely so much on my phone but it’s hard. It seems I still read fast too. Going to have to sort something out about getting to the library. Doing things digitally is just looking too much for me right now. I forgot my library card password or pin, I cbf working out Libby and don’t want to buy a kindle.

Coles is currently 40% off on some shampoos and CW is 50% off on a lot of hair stuff.

I’m a bit suspicious though because the last time I bought something heavily discounted it turned out that sunscreen brand was being pulled for not living up to SPF claims.

[–] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 6 points 3 months ago

Much achieved today. At peace with the idea of doing absolutely nothing tonight

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 6 points 3 months ago

I'm in the process of re-jigging my income/disability insurance converage and it has turned out to be a looong process. 2/3 of the way there, just one more policy to finalise and then I should be set up and not have to make any aplications ever again. It will just be a slow (planned) reduction in cover over the next couple of decades as retirement gets closer.

It would be great to have a crystal ball and know what the future will hold. It's a massive amount of money to spend to (hopefully) receive nothing back. But if something does go wrong I won't have to stress about finances or suffer a major drop in living standards.

ummMentioned to the psychiatrist that my psychologist thinks I could have autism.

Psychiatrist: I see that

Me: how? What signs am I showing?

Psychiatrist: I can't say in particular but I've had X years of experience. The way you answer questions maybe.

Can I have a factory reset? So I can change my mannerisms? My appearance? And anything that might make me seem autistic?

[–] Grackle@aussie.zone 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Napped the day away and now I have a headache and regrets.

Bored is good. Hear me out.

Bored means you are physically well and are mentally rested enough to want to have something to do.

Watermelon jelly setting in the fridge with a generous amount of gelatin to harden it up.

Will be ready for the hotter days coming up.
