I don't think I can stomach watching any Black Mirror, to be honest, given how messed up actual reality is.

That was actually the reason why Charlie Brooker, who wrote every episode, went on a hiatus when Corona started.

I stopped watching at some point because I felt that the point of Black Mirror, which was, originally, in my opinion, to create a debate and make you think and reflect on how technology can change everything... Turned into typical, empty scifi dramas.

I totally agree. Season 1 and season 2 were the apex of the series - exactly for the reasons you mentioned.

Season 3 and 4 lost a lot of the magic. Season 5 and beyond, I've cherry picked a few episodes and always ended up asking myself "meh, why did I watch this?" I expect nothing more from the upcoming season.

I really wonder if they just ran out of innovative ideas.

i just realized i never watched season 6. and reading the episode summaries on wikipedia, i dont think i will
