Hi, I'm Biskii. I'm a moderator for !dragonball@ani.social. Yesterday everything was put in place to begin watching the original Dragon Ball from the beginning. We are taking it three episodes at a time, with discussion threads released every Sunday. Our first discussion thread is right over here

Huge shout outs to @wjs018@ani.social for the discussion thread bot, as well as working with me to add functionality to make all of this possible, and @Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de for all the promotion and legwork they do not only for !dragonball@ani.social but the fediverse in general. I can't forget to shout out the community and everybody that has joined in the discussions for Daima, etc. so far.

Well, I’ve been meaning to finally watch Dragon Ball at some point. Three episodes per week is a pretty manageable pace, although I’m sure there will be weeks I fall behind due to travel or busy plans. That’ll end up being 51 weeks to complete the 153 episodes, just about a year. I’ve only watched maybe half an episode of any Dragon Ball series ever, so I’ll be real fresh.

I never understood the appeal. I mean I watched the last 5ish minutes with friends because it used to come on before Gundam on Toonami while I was in middle school/highschool.

Discussing that I won't be joining. As it isn't something I enjoy but also saying that I'm not ignorant of the show and its plot lines. And attempting to bridge the gap by offering something info like that's equitable. And showcasing with the Toonami reference to have a shared bit of nostalgia.
