I played some more AC Shadows today. I did this fun mission where i snuck aboard a boat and blew up some gunpowder reserves (The ship is in the background of the screenshot above. If you look closely you can see the fire)

Before that, I also visited this island filled to the brim with cats. Just cats everywhere. It was like paradise. I found this one building with a ton of cats outfront.

I found another with a cat getting ready to eat. There were plates all over the island with fish on them, for the cats i imagine.

I found this Calico smiling, which is probably my favorite cat pic yet in a game. Idk though, some of my Mountain Lion pictures from red dead are pretty cute.

Underneath the Island, there's a cave that has a secret mount in it. I heard about it online and decided to do a brief search to see if it was true, Sure enough, it was, and i got a free horse. I got this screenshot of the gorgeous cave after surfacing for air before grabbing it from a chest (because everyone knows that's where you keep horses).

After that, i left the island and hijacked this ladies boat and took her on a romantic boat ride. I ended up going to this big city to chase after the next target. I got to get a nice evening of sailing because the lake was huge. It was almost a 1 km of a drive on the boat. I got the following lovely photo as the sun set:

On my way into port, i drove past the ship i would later blow up. It was massive and took up a huge amount of space. I honestly considered climbing it if i wasn't eager to get back on land sooner:

I eventually made port next to this fishing boat and disembarked, heading into town. I'm quite proud of my parking job. Didn't even strike another fisherman, which is a good record for me:

I had to head up to this sort of palace area as Yasuke to talk to this one lady. Along the way i went through these pretty fields. I'm excited to pass back through them once it turns winter because one of my favorite sites is a big open field of snow. Bonus points if the game lets me leave trails in it.

Finally, after talking to the lady, i headed back into town to blow up the ship. The walk back was way quicker because i slid down the hills, but i took a detour to grab a synchronization point at the castle. As i scaled it, i grabbed a photo of it's gorgeous moat area thingy(?)

Pet all the kitties! And sketch all the animals you can't pet!

I noticed a change in your titles a few days ago. What happened to "until l forget to post Screenshots"? I don't think you forgot, did you?

[–] MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

someone the other day suggested removing it because by day 250 something the chances i forgot would be slim. I was initially hesitant to do it, but ended up doing it just because it's a lot better of a title. The rules are very much still "Until i forget"

Yeah, if you "forget" about it now, there's something pretty big happening in your life (or maybe the world). Though, I don't think there's anything wrong with taking a break every now and then, if you want.

i've considered taking a break a few times or just "freezing" the day count, not because of burn out or anything but because i was just unsure if i could work with my schedule lol. I'm hesitent to take a break though because it kind of feel disingenuous and I've ended up working around my schedule each time. If i were to take a planned break though, i think a year would be the perfect point to do it

Just 107 days to go! 😀

Good luck!

Despite all the drama this game gets, i really enjoy my time with.

Oooh, AC Shadows. Not going tonread anything as I want to play it (someday), but how are you liking it? Would like a non-spoilory review.

Non-spoilery review: It’s cool.

I kinda like all AC games but I also really enjoy this one. I love playing a stealth assassin and Naoe (the Japanese girl) perfectly fit that gameplay as she is not made for frontal assault.

The other character is also nice to sometimes have a one man army, if you want to disconnect your brain and just go head on an enemy group, it is a welcome change of pace when you want that.

Ubi’s Open World are graphic wonders as always but this one is a step above. I am really used to 4K HDR gaming and this game is probably the best looking one I have on my PC.

As a side note, I took a Ubi+ for one month to play it and will buy the game when there is a discount.

I like playing as Yosuke too, but it's hard to keep playing as him as it's an Assassins creed game so much of the open world relies on being agile and climbing, which he can do somewhat but not enough that I don't need to switch to Naoe (really fun doing a leap of faith with him though, I expected they'd just spawn me on the ground). It is nice being a one man army and all but really, his only use value is when I want to have an easy fight and the handful of quests/activities that necessitate him. His character doesn't feel like an afterthought but he doesn't feel like his play style is fully utilized.

Generally, I'm still happy with having the two different characters for different gameplay, but I just wished I had more reason to play as both instead of sticking to one and switching when it's necessary.

Without spoilers, i'm really enjoying it. It simplified the lengthy RPG mechanics the older games had, and the story is a major improvement imo. Stealth is also way more prevalent here (but if you preferred the Valhalla route of combat mainly you can do that too). Parkour is awesome too, but the wilderness could use some work. It still inherits a few flaws from the RPG titles, but it's very much a return to form for the franchise

Nice. Thanks for the review!
