Kinda like boost does, when there is a new comment on a post I've already seen, the comment is colored. Can you do something like that?

I don't believe it's technically possible on Lemmy to specifically highlight unread comments like you could on Reddit, which is a huge shame. But some other apps do highlight comments made the last 15 minutes, which is better than nothing and still a good feature.

Are you sure about this? Connect and Thunder reliably show the number of unread comments in a given thread. Is there really no way to find out which comments these are?

That's what I've been told. You can see how many new comments have been made since your last visit, but not distinguish which ones they actually are.
