In my DARE program, they would let us submit anonymous questions and every week a cop would read out "Would SpongeBob smoke weed?" and get mad.

it's really changed since i remember in my dare program in middle school they made us smell weed

A friend of mine recalls this happening in his DARE program, too!

And also recalls loving the smell.

Yeah what weed smells incredibly good to me that would just make me want to smoke it

I'm in favour of legalisation but weed smells like wet socks lol

Ngl I don't have a problem with other people doing it but it was legitimately the worst part of concerts for me I just couldn't stand the smell ;__; (and my first concert was the Green Day Insomniac tour which was full of it :P)

(although thanks to the guy smoking who let us borrow his lighter so we could burn together some wrist straps and get onto the floor you're the real hero)

[–] stewie3128@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

I've given up on going to outdoor concerts because of that smell.

Really depends on the strain

Wait, that south park joke was REAL?

[–] mxcory@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 years ago

For mine, they brought in a stalk without leaves. That probably would have been circa '04.

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'm assuming that this is funny. Gonna take a while til I get it.

[–] SharkEatingBreakfast@sopuli.xyz 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Do you not get the joke? Or is this a way of saying that you don't find it funny?

[–] Sheeple@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He's saying he's recognizing the pattern of what is usually funny but his brain is currently not in a state to compute the funny.

Sleep deprivation is a common reason for that.

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yes, precisely. I still don't know what's the funny. Or is it really just -ha SpongeBob funny-?

[–] iiVy@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The humor is derived from the silliness of making a government officer read such a juvenile question out loud. So in a way, yeah, haha SpongeBob, but more like "haha SpongeBob, police officer, anti drug program, and drugs"

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Ok, that does do be a little bit funny
