It was a figure of speech mainly but I can change it to fuck hole Mets if that makes you feel better
No, I am a Mets fan, but I just don't think that God has dammed us for eternity, like the A's or the Pirates. After all, He did gift us an owner with buckets of money. But I can't really claim that God is on our side, either, given our track record.
So I conclude that God is indifferent, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
It’s really wild to me how the Mets haven’t won a World Series in the last decade tbh. The team really does seem to make all the right moves and they have looked very stable, albeit I’m not following them like I would the cards. But I really don’t know what else they can do to make it over that hump and finally win it all again other than just win it finally. That lineup they’re rocking now is ruthless and they’ve been keeping the Cards bats very quiet this series and the birds have been hitting a lot so it’s not an easy feat
Uncle Steve only bought full control of the team in 2020. Before then, the Wilpons ran the team horribly, and that didn't help the "LOL METS" narrative. Now, Cohen's money all comes from hedge funds, which means he's not exactly a saint. But I'll take it if I can see another WS championship.
I’m sure every owner does something I’d find unethical, it just comes with big money. I don’t like the Dewitts much for their ventures but they at least used to really spend on the team. Mets have to get one here soon if they keep on this trajectory they just are so damn close and such a good team. Their defense has been driving me absolutely nuts this series, Alonso really upped his game at first
