1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of “discuss” rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This isn't an advice forum

Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with “So” - starting a post with pointless phrases, like “I hope this is allowed” or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

There's that one fork or spoon that you like more than others. Why?

For years I had one fork leftover from when I first moved out on my own. Every single time I got that fork, I was disappointed because it was so light and flimsy compared to all the other forks.

Then one day I realized.... I could just throw out the fork. The fork was adding no value to my life. I had other forks. So I threw it out and then felt vaguely sad for some reason I could not identify.

So I guess that was my favourite fork.

Aww. That was your first grownup fork.

I like this one. I want more of them but it's not made any more. I guess I can watch eBay but paying $4 per spoon seems like a lot for something 40 years old.

My brother found a spoon on the side of the road when he was probably 6-7 years old. Our great-grandmother washed it and it became his special spoon when we visited her. I was a couple years younger and I got jealous of his special spoon so she found another unique spoon that didn't match any of her other silverware. That became my spoon. It stayed at her house until I was an adult. When I moved out in my own, she gifted it to me. It's been almost 40 years. I still have it and smile every time I use it.

Like 1 out of the set? That are all virtually identical?

I don't have a set... Just random ones. Look at you being all adult with a set

It’s just one set. I definitely don’t have two sets. Definitely not.

When we got married I looked through all the cutlery sets available and chose the ones that looked thickest. It might have been onieda but I can't remember. I was so happy when someone bought them for us off our registry.

14 years later I do not have a favourite spoon or fork. They are all still in the same shape!

Am I wrong in not having a favourite?

A thread on here once mentioned Knorks and I decided to buy a few to try them out, and I love them!

It’s a tad on the smaller side and oval. I hate round spoons and like a moron, bought some and didn’t give it much thought. But my favorite is from one of the first sets the household acquired. There is one fork left from that set and is also my favorite.

Google reverse image search can tell you what set it is if you want to find more
