I started writing out a question regarding what exactly was meant by over-explaining, and figured it out as I over-explained my question.

Please add as well: "I will speed up to ensure I'm not talking for too long, in exchange of talking too fast".

This might be me being too pessimistic about it, but I feel like this is an offshoot of the ‘NT snap-judgements of autistic people tend to be more negative’ tendency that’s been found repeatedly in studies. When you have a huge amount of negative interactions and bullying due to behavioral differences you might not even be aware or in control of, of course it’s going to make you hypervigilant and try to prevent it.

Do neurotypicals not get social anxiety?

I'll take misattributed behaviors for 200.

I wouldn't know I certainly do have social anxiety that without proper preparation can make me turn back home minutes from my destination, the more I read these ADHD/Autism memes etc the more I see my own actions reflected, never been diagnosed cause they didn't know anything about this stuff when I was a kid and at this point... whats the point? I have coping mechanisms in place, and I hyper focus on not over explaining. Funny thing, I was only ever comfortable around people that were "weird", "normal" people (like I am supposed to be) always made me uncomfortable, scrutinizing everything I say, everything I do, my leg shaking, fingers touching random things around me, eyes darting away from theirs mid sentence, darting back, then off again.

I could copy paste your response as my own lol except the ADHD. Idk our age gap, but I grew up in the same lived in experience regardless.

Or, when you’ve consumed so much about a topic, that you can’t clearly explain it without losing yourself in your correlations and thoughts.

I fucking HATE IT.
