Don't know what he's talking about, they've planned cryptocurrency integration since day 1.

I've only seen a few videos about Playtron, but I was under the impression that the crypto stuff was always part of their project from almost day 1.

Highest effort rugpull attempt. Just create a coin called good investment coin and pay an influencer to promote it. So much easier than trying to get the Linux community to buy into this.

As soon as ANYTHING launches a crypto coin or nft. You leave, it’s dead, it’s a scam

That’s why Playtron is excited to announce Game Dollar, the stablecoin built for games and ready to handle massive transaction volume over the next decade,” said Kirt McMaster, co-founder and CEO of Playtron. “Game Dollar will unlock new economic models for developers and marketplaces while enabling consumer incentives only possible via programmable dollars.”

What's wrong with the stablecoins that already exist I wonder?

They can't rugpull them, they probably also want to own the transaction fees.

Yeah, I'll pass. If I want a GameOS I'll just go SteamOS, Arch, or Nobara. I donate to things I like and leave if they start grabbing at my wallet. I know donations are slim in most projects and its a major problem, but cryptocurrency is not the answer.

Lutris, Steam, and Retroarch will cover everything I need. No need to reinvent the wheel.

The fuck do I need incentives for, just make a good game. Oh that's right, these incentives aren't for the consumers, they're to take advantage of them.

The incentives are for scammers.
