On behalf of all the dads, sons, or daughters; if you are a mom, thank you!

Moms are a miracle. My kids remind of that. I just spent an hour wrestling with the kids at the dinner table because they wouldn’t eat the Mother’s Day lunch I prepared them. Thank you to all the moms who put up with us as kids because we are getting it back now. And thank you to the wives’ who this is their daily reality.

My youngest lost her mind tonight because we didn't have a purple toothbrush with the cartoon character she wanted. She was still mad about it when she threw a Yoto mini at me.

Good thing Mother's Day is tomorrow here. Right? Sigh.

We had a minor breakthrough after reading a book about emotions in children with our daughter. In a very playful and colourful way the book explains how minor annoyances for small children can have a runaway effect. Unfortunately the book "Mia und die Motzmöhre" (lit. Mia and the sulking carrot) is only available in German. I'm sure there must be similar works in other languages as well and it's perhaps worth a try - what's the worst that could happen?

Every time our daughter now starts spiralling we ask her if she has a sulking carrot. That takes her out of the spiral surprisingly often.

Anywho: happy mother's day!

Europeans, chill. It's not our mother's day yet.

UK and Ireland mothers, you're really late, try again next year.
