This is the point where the pet owner teaches the kitten not to bite so hard. If the human has any idea what they are doing.

How exactly....for those with a little black kitten

I start yelling oww and acting hurt. If the cat is grown, but not super violent, I'll scream oww in an annoying tone and shove the spot they bit or scratched into their face for a few seconds. Then I'll do it again a few seconds later. It probably sounds crazy, but I've raised multiple cats, and one of my friends said the one we adopted from her is a lot less violent and mean now.

One of the cats likes to be on our shoulders, but she knows she's not supposed to jump up there unless we have a shirt on.

It's what we've been doing with our little cat! And she's been getting so much better! When she first got here she used her claws so much. Now though? So soft! Such a good baby.

Idk, but my first thought was that this cat looks uncannily like Huey Freeman. I think it's the eyebrows

It actually does, LOL!

Huey face, Riley attitude.

Huey would absolutely bite his "owner"

Clean! Disinfect! Watch for signs of infection!

Any violent cat owner knows it's: Wash with water!*

I had cat scratch disease last year, and do not recommend it. Very painful and uncomfortable. If a cat bites or scratches you hard enough to break skin, clean and disinfect immediately. If you feel ill after a couple of weeks to a month, test yourself and kitty for Bartonella Henselae. If positive, prepare for three months to a year of misery.

Cat scratch fever, it turns out, is real and not cool

A buddy of mine recently got blood poisoning from a cat bite on their hand, it's rare but it does happen.

Personally I don't worry when my car scratches me, but I still wash it and watch to make sure.

Iirc, you don't have to worry about a cat scratch (beyond the normal) but if they bite you, you need to go to the hospital and get checked out.

I once had to baby sit a new kitten that one of my nieces got. I had to hold on to the little kitty for about two days while the owners had to travel and move around before they got settled and took the kitten back.

At first I thought the kitty was cute and we held and cuddled it and took care of it. It was lonely all the time so we had to make a box and let it sleep with us at night. No big complaints until day two.

I wear jeans most of the time and on day two I noticed scratch marks all over my legs. The kitten kept jumping on me climbing and wanting to sit on my lap. At the time, I thought it was cute ... but later realized this thing is using me as a scratch post!

It made me realize the truth of an old description I heard about cats.

They are furballs with hidden razor blades.

You get drawn in to want to hold and cuddle a cute little plushy soft thing ... only to realize that there are sharp objects hidden underneath.

Just like you would with a puppy? I guess it makes sense....thanks!
