Lol no shit. China is, if not already surpassing the west in tech. And we handed it to them on a silver platter. Our capitalist class decides they didn't want the bother of factories with environmental and labor regulations, so they went to China. And we let them. Now china has it all. I mean what are they behind on? Maybe some cutting edge aerospace stuff? They're quickly reaching chip parity.
And all because our capitalist overlords didn't wanna deal with unions.
It doesn't work in particular when you have tariffs from both countries making unfeasible to keep selling internationally. Nvidia will open fans in China and make the same damn chips at a lower cost. Trump fucked this up.
