There's been lots of talk about United killing people through their abhorrent practices and delay tactics.

But this is literally murder.

jury nullification. do you think Sherwood would convict Robin Hood?

edit - i'll leave it, but i feel like i just said something stupid. it's been a long time since i've read the story. have at it.

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Feds can't prove luigi did lol

Maybe if they can prove it, we can talk jury nullification but so far the man is not guilty and being shameless smeared by the entire regime and their whores

[–] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

practical hope is knowing that trials like this take longer than election cycles.

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Do you think change [of] the white house regime whore gonna change the regimes approach re Luigi?

I don't think it will tbh

They change [the] sock but it is the same hand and daddy owners big mad their whore got wacked like that

[–] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

yeah, you're right, but here's what i see:

  • option 1: judged and executed under this regime
  • option 2: tried, judged, and sentenced

not to say it'll be fair, but at the very least it could be legal

I may need to read that again. I felt there were words absent.

I really don't see Luigi getting pardoned.

i'm reconsidering my comment now.. there's a good chance that the executive branch is going to do something stupid and try to involve themselves in the process, and it could cause a mistrial.

edit - i don't think there's a pardon in his future, either. but the president's inability to keep his mouth shut might just end up saving this guy from death row (maybe?)

I'm saying that conspiring with PAs and NPs to falsify medical records with the specific intent to make sure people die is literally murder.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 22 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Why does United have or need access to patient DNR status? That has no bearing on processing payment for medical services.

[–] NONE_dc@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

To do shit like this I guess.

[–] teamevil@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Wow, two horrific scandals in one week..it's a disgusting company

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I cancelled that company as soon as they lost their ceo, and went with another company, which may not be any better. But at least my current company isn't killing people remotely with DNRs. gah!

[–] the_crotch@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

But at least my current company isn't killing people remotely with DNR

I'll take "Things UnitedHealth customers were saying until this article came out" for $300 Alex.

Seriously though, you have no way of knowing that.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 3 points 1 month ago

I suppose that's true, and by the same token, you don't know that my company IS killing people with DNR, like you DO now know UH is doing.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

the other one is united health is infiltrating nursing homes to delay/deny hospital transfer of patients. so that insurance doesnt end up paying for the elderly people.

[–] NONE_dc@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

There's another scandal I'm not aware of?!

[–] phdepressed@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 month ago

It's related, they were also giving bonuses to not send patients from their nursing homes to the hospital resulting in delayed care (worse recovery outcomes and deaths).

[–] Uranhjort@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Given their history of industrious villainy, it's safe to say that the answer to that will be "Yes" as long as they're in business.

In German we have a word for it: sozialverträgliches Frühableben

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That appears to be two words.

Let me take a wild guess which country this story is about...
