Looking back, I remember joking with a kid about exorcisms when I found my dad's leader handbook, and my mom saying, "Oh that's very rare". But fast forward a dozen years, I found myself on my mission in another country, and the stress causing me to have my very first focal seizures, usually while sleeping. All I knew is that I was having terrible night terrors and waking up with headaches, and completely zoned out and exhausted the rest of the day.

My MP, who was from Utah, and should have known better (I was in Europe, not a third world country), proceeds over the course of several weeks to attempt to cast demons out of me. I realize now what a complete ego trip that would have been for him. He ended up sending me home under the assumption I had unrepented sins allowing Satan to have more hold, and said when I can finally get more sleep I can come back.

To this day, I've felt quite alone in this experience and have never known anyone to have had to go through the same.
