Wait, Planet Coaster 2 didn't have crime, but that was base game in Planet Coaster 1. How did they regress that far?

Really? Been a couple years since I last played it, but I have a good 20 to 30 hours in planet coaster 1, and I don't remember this feature at all. To be fair, I only played the regular campaign for an hour or to, before going infinite money, virtually riding coasters that for once don't trigger my fear of heights, and just building nice looking parks, without worrying about all the other stuff...

If I remember correctly the crime is not in the early stages of the first campaigns but comes later on. In sandbox mode you can turn it off. If you have skilled guards they are pretty much good keeping parks clean and you can also add safety cameras. But you will lose some profit.

if you played it at release you may have missed it, they pulled a similar stunt with PC1 where it was added after release. I just find it weird thay since mechanic was already a thing it wasn't in the game till now, especially since it seems it was in the demo but was cut prior to release.

I can't see the common phrase "crime and punishment" without thinking of the novel Crime and Punishment.

Glad to see people enjoying the update, at least according to the article, and what seems to be UI improvements.

Cool, sounds great that they're adding depth and realism to the crowds. So this must mean those features could also trickle down to other games of Frontier's that need ~~more~~ tons more variety of background activity. You know, like Elite Dangerous? Wait...where are you going? No? Come on, you have the tech to do it...

Elite x Planet Coaster crossover?

You can visit top theme parks on special entertainment planets. Distract yourself from the depths of space with these wholesome rides.

Probably a lot more complex to add... well, anything interacting with the world in Elite, given the scale of the game. Also probably less profitable unfortunately, because any added server cost, even ridiculously low, is still an added cost that you just won't have with a single player game.
