I haven't even beaten the first one.

I get to the point where I have a sub capable of diving deeper and then I get too scared to dive deeper ๐Ÿฅบ

Detecting multiple Leviathan class lifeforms in the region. Are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it?

I also cant handle the thasolphpboa, but i did enjoy watching a streamer finish it.

Thats also a good option for those of who arent fans of the depths.

It took me YEARS to even get out of the first 3 biomes. I have bad thalassophobia. Get yourself the Seamoth Sonar, it hugely reduces the void/wtf is gonna eat me feeling. Thats how I was able to overcome it and eventually beat it, and ive beat it twice now. Its so absolutely amazing and worth pushing through.

Damn, kudos to you for playing a game like Subnautica, when you have bad thalassophobia. Or did the game make you discover this fear? Still, if so, respect for continuing to play!

Nah, i knew i had it. I've almost drowned twice in my lifetime. When I was a kid I got caught in undertow and then as an adult a tubing event went wrong and I was pulled behind a boat by a rope around my arm and neck. I know thalassophobia is more of a fear of the abyss/unknown but since that last incident pretty much anything involving natural bodies of water gives me anxiety.

You definitely have earned any mistrust you may have for that harsh mistress.

Holy fuck. Those are some pretty nasty experiences. No wonder they led to you having such a fear. I honestly don't think I could play a game like Subnautica, if it was me. So I think it's very impressive that you have, and even beat it twice. You're made of sterner stuff.

Same! I ducking love Subnautica so much but I can never progress lol. Too scary. I'm so ridiculously excited for 2, which is insane cus the same thing will happen lol.

Took me a couple of times to get through it. For the same reason. Well worth it in the end though.

subnautica 1 was one of the best games i ever played. below zero was like a less good, James Cameron version of subnautica 1 that sorta forgot it was a survival craft game and focused more on the cinematic experience. subnautica 2....looks full blown James Cameron movie. it literally looks like the scenes underwater in Avatar 2. subnautica 1 was not great because it had aliens or a neat sci fi plot. those were neat extras. it was cool because the nature of the game itself required you to carve your OWN story through the way you chose to survive and progress. the world was your world, not a set piece for a stage play. subnautica 2, from what I've seen so far, looks to have completely lost what i first loved about the game. i know the original creator of the concept has long been gone from the development team, and it frankly bums me out how they've altered the original vision.

I'm sure it'll be hugely successful, though. looks like something made for YouTubers more than someone who wants to pick up rocks for 3 hours off the sea floor.

Below Zero was very much lackluster so I'm sceptical about this one. I would love for it to be as good as the first which is one of my absolute favorite games.

I'm skeptical the fear can be re-induced once you've gone through the first game. Its really hard to judge. I'd be interested in hearing about someone who played sub zero first and then the first game.
